Visual Studio Code basic options
Click Help on the navigation bar and select Interactive Playground. This option allows you to try out VS Code’s features.
Here are some basic commands:
Use this shortcut:
Windows: Shift+Ctrl+p / Mac: Cmd+p, enter > - to open a search bar and Access all available commands based on your current context.
Here are some exemplary ones:
- Preview: Open Preview to the Side
- Whitespace: View > Render Whitespace
- Navigate: Outline / Windows: Shift+Ctrl+p / Mac: Cmd+p, enter > @ / breadcrumbs
- Suggestions: Ctrl+Space
- Format suggestions: Windows: Shift+Ctrl+p / Mac: Cmd+p, enter > * Preferences: Configure Language Specific Settings > Markdown > “editor.suggest.showWords”: set to false
- Table of contents: Windows: Shift+Ctrl+p / Mac: Cmd+p, enter > Create Table of Contents
- Document formatting: Windows: Shift+Ctrl+p / Mac: Cmd+p, enter > Format Document
